This unique necklace features an Anglo-Saxon leather strap end made of fine bronze as it's pendant.  The rare zoomorphic motif features what appears to be a celtic-interlacing style dog creature with a horse head at the base of the piece.  Date circa 6th to 8th century AD.  Found in North Yorks, Scarborough, UK.  Incorporated into a beaded pendant with a serpentine spike.  The necklace is stingray leather with a sterling silver closure. 16 inches long.
